Clavis Shop (clavishop.com, “the shop”) is operated by Clavis Sinica Limited. It sells e-books, textbooks and courseware for learning Chinese, and high-resolution digital files of classical Chinese paintings and calligraphy. By browsing or buying you agree to these terms.
Everything we sell is a digital good; nothing is shipped. Each item has a permanent ID (SID) written as Title (type, creator, year), with a matching 32-character machine ID and QR code. The description, contents and sample pages on the item page are there for you to read before you buy.
All prices are in US dollars (US$). Payment is handled by Stripe; the shop never sees or stores your full card number. Prices may change; the price shown on the item page when you pay is the price you pay.
Digital goods cannot be returned or exchanged once sold, and the shop does not pay money back for them. Your download becomes available as soon as payment succeeds, and by paying you ask for immediate access. Please read the sample pages, contents and description first. If a file truly cannot be downloaded or opened after you pay, tell us on the contact page and we will help you get the file again.
After payment the download link is emailed to the address you entered, and you can download again at any time from My library once signed in. Please keep your email and links safe. If you bought as a guest and lost the link, enter your email at /shop/retrieve and we will send it again.
Files you buy are for your own study, teaching, research and design reference. Without permission, please do not resell, forward, post on public sites or share them for others to download, and do not remove the source marks and identifiers in the files. The text, images, layout, descriptions and editing work in each item belong to the shop or the original author; the copyright status of the classical works themselves differs from work to work, so please check before reusing them.
Authors who publish e-books, textbooks or courseware here must have the right to publish that content and must not infringe anyone’s rights. The platform owner confirms each item’s SID and bare SID, and may take an item down if it breaks these rules or infringes rights. Description translation is charged at the price shown on the page.
The shop’s AI guide, reading companion and AI-written descriptions are aids for choosing and reading books. They can be wrong and are not professional advice; before you buy, rely on the item page, sample pages and contents.
The shop and its items are provided as is, and we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, the shop is not liable for indirect loss arising from using or being unable to use an item, and its liability for any one order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
We may change these terms by posting the new version on this page and updating the date at the top. Continuing to use the shop after a change means you accept the new version. Completed orders are governed by the terms in force when you paid.
